The starting point: coffee from a family farm arriving in Europe
Los Chapines was born to pay tribute to the origin of coffee and traditional farm processes. Laura, the founder, is the third generation of a coffee-growing family and brings the coffee from her farm in Guatemala to Spain and Europe, selling to businesses for now.
The market is full of brands talking about origin and tradition with the same words. Los Chapines had to tell its story in a way that made the difference obvious.
Why the naming for Los Chapines started with people
Before designing anything, we looked for a name that connected with the origin. In Guatemala, "chapín" is what you call someone from there, a word full of affection.
In the plural, Los Chapines puts the focus on the people who work on the farm and are part of the coffee's story.
What we created: lettering from the grandmother's handwriting and two photo shoots
From the name we built the logo with lettering Ricard García created from the handwriting of the grandmother, the first generation on the farm. We designed packaging that shows the traditional way of working.
And we directed two of our own shoots: one on the farm in Guatemala and another in Barcelona with photographer Gime Zaballa, with materials, style and lighting aligned with the identity.
The result: a coffee brand ready for professional clients
Today Los Chapines has a brand with real character, ready to present to businesses in Spain and Europe, where every piece tells the same story.
A well-chosen name does half of a brand's work: Los Chapines tells you where it comes from before anyone has to explain it.

What Laura from Los Chapines says
Really happy with the result. We worked on the brand for several months and Itziar was incredibly warm and understood the brand 100%, just like we do.
